Natalya and Abbey, a JFCS/East Bay volunteer, have been meeting weekly for more than two years—since shortly after Natalya arrived from Moscow. Early on they made a mutual commitment to learn each other's language and share cultural experiences. This friendship has given Natalya the opening to American culture that she desired. And, at eighty-three, she speaks beautiful English.
