Emergency Shelter Consultation

With our Emergency Shelter Consultation program, JFCS East Bay brings our Early Childhood Mental Health Specialists on site to provide support to some of the most vulnerable children in our community. Staying in a shelter or a residential recovery program puts a child at immediate risk of social-emotional problems. Establishing any kind of normal parenting routine and maintaining a strong parent-child bond in these circumstances is extremely difficult.

Our expert staff provides intensive support to mothers and children during this challenging time in their lives, offering parenting support groups, individual therapy, parent-child therapy, and case management to ensure that the children are connected to any services they may require.

JFCS East Bay currently provides consultation services at two shelters and one safe house operated by Building Futures with Women and Children as well as at Magnolia Women’s Recovery Program, a residential recovery program for pregnant and postpartum mothers.
