Earlier this year, JFCS East Bay’s longtime Executive Director Avi Rose announced his retirement. I am thrilled to let you know that JFCS East Bay’s Board of Directors has selected Robin Mencher as our next Executive Director. Robin will join the agency on December 14, 2020.
Robin comes to JFCS East Bay after a distinguished tenure at KQED Public Media, where she most recently served as Executive Director of KQED Education. There, she built an educational service around the impact outcomes of equity and access, media literacy, and youth civic engagement. Prior to that, Robin worked as a Program Director at the San Francisco Education Fund and as a high school teacher in San Lorenzo.
Robin is a longtime member of the East Bay community and brings expertise in nonprofit management, partnership building, fundraising, and leadership development. She shares these thoughts as she prepares to join us: “I’m honored to serve as the next Executive Director of JFCS East Bay, building capacity for our community to thrive through transforming trauma into agency and providing the fundamentals of care at every stage of life. This organization is a foundation of support to all who live in the East Bay. I’m looking forward to working in partnership with the community to meet the acute needs we face today during the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing the vision of transformation in the long term.”
There is no doubt that Robin will stand on the accomplishments of Avi Rose, whose dedication, compassion, vision, and indefatigable work for JFCS East Bay over the past fifteen years have significantly increased the agency’s reach and impact. Please hold the date of Thursday, December 17 at 5:30pm for a virtual community-wide celebration in honor of Avi.
Please also join me in giving Robin a warm welcome to our JFCS East Bay family!
