Urge Governor Newsom to Sign SB 85 and Support Refugees
Governor Newsom has until September 30th to sign SB 85, which will double the length of time of critical case management for newly arrived refugees from 90 to 180 days. While the Governor has been a strong supporter of immigrants, he has to balance the budget amidst a big deficit. Join us in reminding the Governor how important this is for our community, as well as a robust bipartisan majority of the Legislature with no opposition!
Asylum Seekers AND Humanitarian Aid
Members of Congress are looking to secure funding for their priorities by using the rights of asylum seekers at the U.S.-Mexico border as a bargaining chip. Permanent changes to U.S. asylum and immigration policy should not happen through the budget process, and we must speak out to ensure that populations in need of support are not pitted against each other.

Asylum Seeker Work Authorization Act
It’s much too difficult for asylum seekers to get authorization to work in the U.S. As a consequence, they face daily living challenges. Support the Asylum Seeker Work Authorization Act!
