At JFCS East Bay, we are committed to uplifting families and children in our community through our Children, Youth, and Family program. This month, we are proud to spotlight Lisa Klein, the Founder and Executive Director of Loved Twice, whose work aligns closely with our mission to support the well-being of children and families in need.
Lisa Klein’s journey began in 2005 with a simple yet powerful idea. Recognizing the critical need for clothing among newborns in underserved communities, Lisa started gathering gently used baby clothes to distribute to families facing economic hardships. What began as a small-scale operation in her living room has since blossomed into Loved Twice, a highly respected organization that has clothed over 30,000 newborns across California.
Loved Twice has become an essential partner in our Children, Youth, and Family program, helping us extend our reach to the most vulnerable families. Together, we have been able to ensure that new parents not only receive the mental health and social services they need but also the essential baby clothes that Loved Twice provides. This partnership allows us to offer a more holistic approach to supporting families during one of the most challenging and joyful times in their lives.
Lisa’s passion and dedication are evident in every aspect of Loved Twice. Under her leadership, the organization has grown from its humble beginnings to partner with hospitals, clinics, and social service agencies, including JFCS East Bay, ensuring that new mothers receive essential baby clothes to give their children a strong start in life. The impact of Loved Twice goes beyond providing clothing; it offers a sense of dignity and support to families during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives.
By working hand-in-hand with our Children, Youth, and Family program, Lisa Klein and Loved Twice play a crucial role in our shared mission to foster healthy, thriving families. The clothes provided by Loved Twice not only meet immediate needs but also symbolize the community’s care and support, reinforcing the safety net that JFCS East Bay strives to create for every family we serve.
Lisa’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement mirrors our values. Loved Twice not only alleviates immediate needs but also promotes the recycling and reuse of baby clothes, reducing waste and fostering a culture of giving. Lisa’s ability to inspire others to contribute to her mission has created a ripple effect, encouraging countless volunteers to join the cause and make a tangible difference.
As we continue our work to support those in need, we are inspired by Lisa Klein and the incredible impact she has made. We look forward to many more years of collaboration with Loved Twice and to witnessing the continued growth and success of this invaluable organization.
Lisa Klein’s story is a powerful reminder of what one person’s passion and determination can achieve. Through Loved Twice and our partnership, we are able to provide not just essential clothing but also a sense of love, care, and community that strengthens the families we serve.
