Renewal Begins With Caring for Each Other
As we welcome the Jewish New Year, we look ahead with renewed hope, purpose, and strength drawn from one another. Together, we can ensure dignity, security, and care for every member of our community.
The Jewish Federation Bay Area has provided a $92,000 leadership gift in support of the Jewish Community Safety Net. Please join us by matching this catalyst gift from September 22 to October 13.
Together, we can renew hope, strengthen resilience, and ensure everyone in our community has the care they need.
SUPPORTING OUR
JEWISH COMMUNITY

As we enter the High Holy Days, renewing a commitment to care for each other is more vital than ever. Last year, over 100 Jewish community members came to us with urgent emergency requests for help with basic needs, such as food, rent, utilities, medical bills, home care, and transportation. We were able to provide 60 people with $80,000 of direct financial aid, and mental health assistance. We also delivered food assistance to 225 older adults and Holocaust survivors (including Weekly Shabbat meals & Holiday meals delivered 3 times a year.)
This year, help us meet more needs. If you have questions about who is being affected by Jewish economic vulnerability – in the East Bay or nationally – please take a moment to learn more by viewing our recent webinar here.

Restore Pathways for Refugees
September is a pivotal moment to renew our commitment to refugees and those left stranded by the ongoing refugee ban. As the federal fiscal year draws to a close, the administration must consult with Congress and set a new target for refugee admissions before October 1.
Now is the time to strengthen our community by raising our voices for those in urgent need. Contact your elected leaders to advocate for a robust U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) that protects the most vulnerable refugees and renews hope for safety and opportunity around the world.

JFCS East Bay is deeply grateful to The Jewish Federation Bay Area for their $120,000 leadership gift supporting the Jewish Community Safety Net. This generosity strengthens resilience, renews hope, and inspires others to join in ensuring care for all in our community.
