Dear Friend,
Yesterday, we saw the world as uncertain and held hope for what might be possible for our collective future.
Today, we awake to the realities of our election outcomes. While the future is still uncertain, we anticipate massive changes to federal policy that may directly impact our work, including but not limited to:
- New policies hostile to immigrants, demonizing our immigrant neighbors and ordering mass deportations
- Deep funding cuts to refugee/newcomer programs and deep cuts to the numbers of new refugees welcomed
- Deep funding cuts to Medicaid and Health and Human Services across the board
At JFCS East Bay, it’s our role to serve community and to advocate for the people most impacted by the results of the election outcomes. Together, we are all a part of building a community where everyone can flourish with dignity. And through our direct service and our advocacy, together we are upholding our democracy. Your support makes all of this possible.
We will work with our clients – individuals and families, with community partners, with our elected officials, and with YOU, our volunteers and supporters to continue to advocate for our vision and to live our values of welcoming the stranger, recognizing the dignity of every human being, repairing and cultivating a more just community for all.
Will you join us?
Your support at this moment in time is more important than ever.
You can ensure that there are supports in our community for the next 4 years!
Make a four-year commitment NOW.
